Take a trip to Mossman Gorge Cultural Centre, where you'll be welcomed with a traditional Aboriginal smoking ceremony. Explore the gallery and local crafts store before venturing into the rainforest of Mossman Gorge. With your knowledgeable guide, enjoy an interpretive walk and learn about the Kuku Yalanji people’s special relationship with the land. Return to the centre for a delicious lunch at the Mayi Café. After lunch, head to Cooya (Kuyu Kuyu) Beach, the traditional fishing grounds of the Kuku Yalanji people, for your Coast & Cultural Walk with a Kubirri Warra clan member. Your Aboriginal guide will lead you across Cooya Beach, demonstrating and teaching traditional fishing and gathering techniques still used today to source food for their family.
